The practice
Living with selenite
-
Rest your stones on it
Lay bracelets and small crystals on a selenite tray overnight. In crystal traditions it is used to cleanse other stones.
-
Sweep a room
Move the raw stick or wand slowly through a room, along doorways and shelves, when a space feels heavy.
-
Keep it dry and gentle
Never wash or soak selenite, as water softens its surface. Dust it with a dry brush and keep it away from humid bathrooms.

Questions
Asked often
What is selenite traditionally used for?
In crystal traditions selenite is linked to the crown and to clarity, and is widely used to cleanse other crystals and reset a space. This is tradition, not a medical claim.
Can selenite get wet?
No. Selenite is very soft and water can dissolve and dull its surface. Keep it dry and away from humid rooms.
Does selenite need cleansing?
In crystal traditions selenite is said to cleanse itself and other stones. If you like, set it in soft moonlight on a windowsill.
Why does my selenite scratch easily?
It is one of the softest crystals. Handle it gently, dust it with a dry brush and keep it away from harder stones that might mark it.
