Iolite A compass for decision-heavy days

Iolite is violet-blue cordierite, long called the compass stone, and it shifts colour as you turn it in the light. In crystal traditions it is linked to the third eye and solar plexus, to direction and focus. Here it comes as a single hand-shaped 7 × 7 × 6 cm pyramid for a desk or bookshelf.

The practice

Living with iolite

  1. Set it where you plan

On a desk, a bookshelf or wherever you map out the week ahead.

  2. Turn it in the light

Before a big decision, turn the pyramid slowly and watch its colour shift, then breathe five counts in and five out for fifteen to thirty minutes.

  3. Keep sessions sensible

If you notice vivid dreams or a busy mind, shorten your sessions. Wipe with a soft, dry cloth and never soak it.

Iolite does not choose the road for you. It helps you notice which way you were already facing.

Questions

Asked often

Why is iolite called the compass stone?

It has long been known by that name, and in crystal traditions it is linked to finding direction. It also shows different shades from different angles, which makes it lovely to turn in the hand.

What if I start having vivid dreams?

Shorten your sessions, or pause for a while and return to it later.

Can I use it every day?

Yes, in sessions of fifteen to thirty minutes. Give it a rest through very stressful periods.

Is it real iolite?

Yes. Every piece is natural, lab tested and certified, and you can look up your certificate with your order number.
