Solid, dark and quietly steadying.
For an entrance, a workspace or a meditation corner: a 7 × 7 × 6 cm pyramid of natural black tourmaline, dense and deep black. It is the stone people most often reach for with protection and grounding intentions, especially when a home or office feels scattered or heavy with negative energy.
Why it is chosen
- Tradition places it at the root chakra, with the solar plexus second, under Saturn and the earth element.
- Often chosen for entryways, shared offices and busy homes where people want calm, clear boundaries.
- A steady, orderly piece that asks for nothing dramatic and suits regular, intentional use.
How to use it
- Place it near the main entrance, at your workspace or in a meditation corner; in vastu, the main door is where energy enters a home.
- Sit grounded and let each exhale run long, in for 6 and out for 8, for 15 to 30 minutes.
- Use it with intention rather than all day, every day, and refresh it with the sound of a bell or bowl.
Is it right for you
Anyone moving into a new home, setting up an office near a busy door, or wanting a steadier entryway.
If you want the same stone at the doorway itself rather than on a table, the Black Tourmaline Hanging can hang just inside the entrance. See it here.

Care
Black tourmaline is robust, but keep it away from water and salt and wipe it with a soft dry cloth. It is heavier than it looks, so lift it with both hands and give it a firm, level spot. Store it on a natural surface clear of clutter and electronics, and cleanse it traditionally with breath or the sound of a singing bowl.
Questions
Is this real black tourmaline?
Yes. Every piece is lab tested and certified, and once your order arrives you can look up its certificate with your order number on our Lab Certificates page.
Will a black tourmaline pyramid protect my home?
We make no protection claims. It is a grounding object and a daily reminder to hold calm, clear boundaries.
Where should I place black tourmaline for negative energy?
Most people choose the main entrance, a workspace or a meditation corner. Keep it on a steady surface where it is seen but not knocked.
Can I put it in water to cleanse it?
No. Use your breath or the sound of a bell or singing bowl instead; water and salt are best avoided.
The Pocket Book of Stones。
