A soft white curve for small things.
A round selenite bowl, hand-carved from natural stone, its curved walls made to hold what is small, loose and easily lost. People fill it with tumbled stones, crystal chips, rings and earrings, and gather a whole collection in it on full-moon evenings. When light passes through the stone it takes on a soft glow, lovely on an altar or dressing table.
Why it is chosen
- Traditionally linked with the Moon and the crown chakra, selenite is a familiar presence in full-moon rituals.
- Often chosen as a selenite bowl for chips and tumbled stones, which roll off flat plates but stay gathered here.

How to use it
- Set it on an altar, in a meditation corner or on a dressing table, somewhere dry and level.
- At night or on a full-moon evening, place small stones and rings into the bowl by hand rather than dropping them in.

Care
Selenite is a soft stone that dissolves when wet, so the bowl must stay completely dry: no rinsing, no salt, no bathroom shelves. Wipe out dust with a soft dry cloth, and lower pieces in gently so they do not scratch the inside. Tradition holds that selenite needs no cleansing, and a short rest in moonlight is all the care it asks for.
Questions
What can I keep in a selenite bowl?
Small stones, crystal chips, rings and earrings all sit well in it. On full-moon evenings many people gather their whole collection inside.
Can I rinse it under the tap?
No. Even a quick rinse begins to dissolve selenite, so wipe it with a soft dry cloth instead.
Does the bowl itself need cleansing?
No. In crystal tradition selenite is said to stay clear on its own; a brief rest in moonlight is enough if you enjoy the ritual.
Is this real selenite?
