Rainbow Aura Quartz meaning
Rainbow aura starts as natural quartz, but its colour is added by people: inside a vacuum chamber a fine film of metal is bonded to the crystal, and that film splits light into shifting, oil-on-water rainbows. It is a coated crystal, and the colour lives on its surface rather than in the stone. No chakra is assigned to it in our collection notes, which link it instead with the Sun and Moon, and with earth and air.
Hang it near a window, in a studio or in a reception area, so that daylight or a lamp can shine through the colours. Anyone who loves shimmer and colour in a room will understand its appeal. If you would prefer an uncoated stone whose colour comes from the earth, clear quartz or amethyst is the better choice.

Is my rainbow aura quartz real?
Rainbow aura is natural quartz given a metallic coating by vapour deposition; the colour is added. We sell it as treated, in plain words, and your lab certificate comes with your order.
- Rainbow aura is coated quartz, which means both the coating and the crystal beneath matter.
- Well-made aura quartz has an even, metallic sheen that changes colour with the angle, over quartz that looks clear.
- Flat colour without that shimmer suggests dye or lacquer, and bare or flaking patches mean a thin or worn coat.
- Coated glass is also sold under the name and may give itself away with tiny bubbles and a warmer feel than quartz.
