Meaning

Yellow Calcite meaning

Honey to lemon in colour, with a mellow, waxy lustre, yellow calcite is simply calcite in a warm hue, and the word calcite comes from calx, Latin for lime. Crystal tradition gives it the Solar Plexus and the Sacral, and people turn to it for a brighter outlook and a gentle belief in themselves, the sort of nudge that never becomes a push.

Strung as polished beads, it is made for daytime wear. Citrine is its harder, quartz counterpart in colour, while calcite is far softer and glows rather than sparkles, a difference easy to see side by side. Reach for it in seasons when you want to feel more hopeful about your own abilities and would rather be coaxed than driven.

Real or fake

Is my yellow calcite real?

We sell yellow calcite as natural, and your lab certificate comes with your order.

  • Yellow calcite has a waxy to glassy sheen, often with soft bands or cloudy veils, and in a clear piece lines seen through it can look doubled.
  • It is sometimes confused with citrine, which is a harder, glassier quartz, and a very bright, uniform yellow can mean dye.
  • Because calcite is so soft, a well-worn bead may show fine surface marks, which is normal for the stone.
