Meaning

Pietersite meaning

Pietersite is a relative of tiger’s eye whose silky fibres were broken apart and naturally cemented again, so its blue, gold and grey shimmer moves in torn, swirling patches rather than straight bands. It is named after Sid Pieters, who found it in Namibia. Crystal tradition knows it as the tempest stone and links it with the Third Eye and Solar Plexus, a stone for staying composed while pressure builds and choices multiply.

Keep it where plans are made: our notes suggest a work table or a study altar. It is a stone for anyone whose role asks for calm judgement on difficult days, and steady enough for a newcomer who stays attentive to how it feels.

Not yet profiled in the KUSHA canon: these notes come from our collection notes and crystal tradition.

Is my pietersite real?

We sell pietersite as natural, and your lab certificate comes with your order.

  • In pietersite the shimmer breaks into patches that shift with every tilt, and blue-grey, gold and brown fragments meet at odd angles.
  • Straight, even bands mean ordinary tiger’s eye, and a flat, lifeless blue suggests dye.
  • Glass made to imitate its sheen often shows a fine honeycomb pattern when seen closely with a loupe, and it lacks the cool weight of stone.
