Meaning
Orgone meaning
Orgone, or orgonite, is made rather than found: metal shavings and pieces of quartz suspended in resin, poured into a mould and left to harden, often in bands. The KUSHA canon files it among objects for the home rather than among stones, associating it with clearing a stale, heavy atmosphere and bringing a quieter sense of order to the room around it. For the same reason the canon links it with all the chakras at once, as something meant for a whole space rather than for one part of you.
Orgone is placed, not worn: our practice sets it at the centre of a room, sometimes with a short spoken line, “This space is cleared. This space is aligned.” By the canon’s account it is best kept in a room for meditation, a calm workspace or the home of someone highly sensitive. The canon is particular about craft, asking for clean metal and whole, good-quality quartz, and advises passing over pieces that are carelessly made.
We share these associations as tradition, not as a promise of results.
Care
How to cleanse and care for orgone
Best ways to cleanse it: Selenite plate · Sound · Moonlight
| Method | Can it bear it? | In our practice |
|---|---|---|
| A brief rinse | AvoidResin with metal set inside: keep it dry. | We skip it |
| A bed of salt | AvoidSalt can mark resin and corrode the metal inside it. | We skip it |
| Morning sun | AvoidDirect sun and heat can dull or soften resin. | We skip it |
| Moonlight | YesBy a window, for three to five hours only. | We use it |
| Smoke | Yes | Not usually |
| Sound | Yes | We use it |
| A selenite plate | Yes | We use it |
We use it: named for this stone in our canon. Not usually: safe for the stone, but not a method we name for it. We skip it: our practice keeps it away.
Pairings
What orgone sits well with
From the KUSHA canon, the stones most often set beside it.
In the KUSHA canon, selenite always goes with a grounding stone, so add one such as smoky quartz or black tourmaline when you set the two together.
Real or fake
Is my orgone real?
Orgone is a man-made composite of resin, metal shavings and crystal, not a natural stone. We sell it as composite, in plain words, and your lab certificate comes with your order.
- Orgone is made, not mined, so judge it by its making.
- In a well-made piece the metal and quartz are spread evenly through clear, glossy resin, and the quartz looks whole and bright.
- The surface should be smooth, with no sticky or cloudy patches.
- Large air pockets, cracks in the resin, or chipped and murky quartz suggest a hasty pour.
