Meaning
Larimar meaning
Larimar is a rare blue pectolite found only in the Dominican Republic, and its name blends Larissa, the daughter of the man who named it, with mar, Spanish for sea. Deep emotional peace and spiritual gentleness are its themes in the KUSHA canon: if rose quartz is tenderness at a human scale, larimar is that tenderness raised to a sacred one. Heart and Throat are its chakras, the passage between what we feel and what we find words for.
Nothing elaborate is asked: in our practice larimar is cupped over the Heart while one sentence settles, “Peace rises within me.” Intuitive, empathic people, and anyone in a season that calls for softness, tend to find it good company. Soft as it is, larimar must never become a place to hide, the canon says; if you tend to drift away from difficult feelings, or to use spiritual practice to step around them, it points you to a more grounding stone for now.
We share these associations as tradition, not as a promise of results.

Real or fake
Is my larimar real?
We sell larimar as natural, and your lab certificate comes with your order.
- Look for a soft sea blue patterned with white, often in a web-like or rippling design with depth, and sometimes small red or brown flecks.
- Imitations include dyed howlite or magnesite, blue glass and resin: dye settles into fractures, glass shows bubbles, and resin feels light and soon turns warm.
- A bright, even blue with no white pattern at all is a reason to ask questions.
