Meaning

Red Jasper meaning

Red jasper is an opaque, fine-grained form of quartz, and its earthy red comes from iron oxide held within the stone. In crystal tradition red jasper stands for endurance, and the KUSHA canon gives it first to the Root, then to the Sacral. Where carnelian or sunstone bring a quick lift, the canon reads its warmth as slow and even: energy that lasts, and a feeling of being solid in your own body.

In our practice you hold red jasper in both hands, feet flat on the floor, and say “I root. I rise.” It is a good match for people worn thin by a demanding season, or for those who want staying power more than a burst of energy. The canon credits it with a gentle heat, so for anyone running hot, quick to anger or already restless, it prefers a cooler stone.

We share these associations as tradition, not as a promise of results.

Real or fake

Is my red jasper real?

We sell red jasper as natural, and your lab certificate comes with your order.

  • Red jasper is plentiful, so outright fakes are uncommon, though dyed stone and red glass do turn up under its name.
  • The stone is opaque and slightly uneven in colour, often interrupted by darker veins, pale flecks or patches of grey quartz.
  • Colour that is unusually bright and even, or that gathers in cracks and drill holes, points to dye.
  • Shine a torch through it: jasper stays almost completely opaque, whereas red glass usually glows.

Can red jasper go in water?

Not in our practice. Our practice keeps water cleansing for a few named stones only. The stone itself takes a brief rinse.

Can red jasper go in the sun?

It can. Sunlight will not harm it. It is not one of the methods we name for red jasper, so we do not usually use it.

Can red jasper be cleansed on salt?
