Meaning
Malachite meaning
A copper carbonate, malachite forms in layers where copper ore weathers near the surface, which is why every polished piece shows its own rings, eyes and stripes of green. Among the most intense stones the KUSHA canon holds, it does not soothe; it is said to bring hidden feelings and old patterns into view and to ask for honesty about them. In the chakras it spans the Heart and the Solar Plexus, read by the canon as truth held in the heart and the courage to face it.
Its ritual partners it with a grounding stone, black tourmaline or smoky quartz, held together through slow breaths and the words “I face myself with courage.” The canon keeps it for people with firm emotional footing who feel ready to look hard at a long-running pattern and want change more than comfort. Tender, fragile or worn-out seasons are not its time, nor is it for highly sensitive people or anyone carrying fresh loss; then gentler company serves better.
We share these associations as tradition, not as a promise of results.
Care

Best ways to cleanse it: Sound
| Method | Can it bear it? | In our practice |
|---|---|---|
| A brief rinse | AvoidMalachite contains copper: never use it in elixirs or drinking water, and wash your hands after handling raw or broken pieces. It is also soft and porous, so water, acids and steam can damage it. | We skip it |
| A bed of salt | AvoidSalt holds damp, and malachite’s porous surface marks easily. | We skip it |
| Morning sun | BrieflyGIA lists malachite among stones sensitive to heat and sudden temperature change. | We skip itOur practice keeps malachite out of the sun. |

Real or fake
Is my malachite real?
We sell malachite as natural, and your lab certificate comes with your order.
- Reconstituted malachite is crushed stone bound in resin, and printed or moulded plastic copies also circulate.
- In natural stone the bands curve and change width, with crisp edges between pale and dark green and no pattern repeating exactly.
- It should feel weighty and cool; a light, warm piece, blurred edges between bands or tiny bubbles suggest resin.
