Meaning
Golden Hematite meaning
Golden hematite is not a colour the mineral takes on its own: in the trade it is usually grey hematite, or a reconstituted iron oxide material, given a thin metallic gold finish. It shares hematite’s reading in the KUSHA canon: a stone for the Root alone and the most anchoring of all its grounding stones, thought of as drawing attention down from a busy head into the body. The gold makes it easy to wear to work, and it is often picked for composure in meetings, at a desk and on the road.
Sit upright for its ritual with the stone in both hands, let the weight settle into your hips, and repeat “I descend into my body.” The canon has in mind people who live in their heads, overthink or feel scattered and spacey. Its weight is the point, so on days when your energy is already low, or when everything feels like too much, the canon would have you leave it aside.
We share these associations as tradition, not as a promise of results.
Care

| Morning sun | BrieflyKeep the coated finish from long sun and heat. | Not usually |
| Moonlight | Yes | We skip itIn the KUSHA chakra system, Root stones stay out of moonlight. |
| Smoke | Yes | We use it |
| Sound | Yes | We use it |
| A selenite plate | Yes | We use it |
We use it: named for this stone in our canon. Not usually: safe for the stone, but not a method we name for it. We skip it: our practice keeps it away.

Real or fake
Is my golden hematite real?
Golden hematite in the trade is usually a coated, often reconstituted material rather than natural stone. Ask us what the piece you are choosing is before you buy; your lab certificate comes with your order.
- Because the gold is a surface finish, judge the coating rather than the colour: the best pieces have an even, unbroken shine with no dull or patchy areas.
- Grey showing through at edges or drill holes means the finish is already thin, and some wear is normal where it rubs against skin, perfume or other beads.
- Natural hematite is only weakly magnetic, so a bead that clings firmly to a magnet is almost certainly a man-made magnetic ceramic, often sold as magnetic hematite.
