Meaning
Charoite meaning
Swirled, fibrous and violet, charoite has a silky sheen that seems to drift as the stone moves, and the Chara River in Siberia, the one area where it is found, gave it its name. Crystal tradition connects it to the Third Eye and the Heart, and to meeting old fears steadily rather than by force. Courage from within and making peace with what cannot be changed are its other themes.
Our collection notes suggest sessions of ten to twenty-five minutes, and daily use for anyone who feels emotionally steady. People with a settled, reflective practice, ready to look at long-held fears, are the ones it suits best. Through very pressured weeks, give it a rest and return to it later.
Not yet profiled in the KUSHA canon: these notes come from our collection notes and crystal tradition.

Real or fake
Is my charoite real?
Some charoite is stabilised with resin to strengthen it, and dyed look-alikes exist. We sell charoite as natural, and your lab certificate comes with your order.
- Natural charoite shows lilac to deep violet swirling fibres, often flecked with black, orange-brown or white minerals, under a sheen that shifts with the light.
- Without that fibrous swirl, an even purple is probably glass, resin or dyed stone.
- Sugilite and lepidolite, both natural, are sometimes mistaken for it, but neither has its silky, flowing pattern.
