Clear Quartz meaning
The word crystal comes from the Greek krystallos, ice, because the ancient Greeks took clear quartz for water frozen too hard ever to thaw. Known in tradition as the master amplifier, it is neutral in the KUSHA canon: neither soothing nor stirring, it magnifies whatever you bring to it, like a mirror. It is linked with every chakra, the Crown and Third Eye above all, and valued for a clearer head and for giving shape to an intention.
In our practice it is held at the chest or the brow while an intention is spoken softly, followed by a long, slow exhale. Settled, ritual-minded people who want plain support for a clear purpose get the most from that neutrality. Because it enlarges whatever is present, the canon puts it away when you feel wound up, raw with loss or strangely far from yourself; in those weeks it would only turn the volume up.

- Glass is what clear quartz is most often confused with, especially in moulded spheres.
- Faint veils, wisps or tiny inner fractures that catch a rainbow are typical of natural quartz, so a large, flawless sphere at a low price deserves caution.
- Under a loupe, round bubbles or swirl lines point to glass.
- Rest a polished piece on a thin line and turn it slowly: quartz shows the line doubled from some angles, while glass never does.
